Dubai is the capital of the Arab emirate of the same name on the Persian Gulf and one of the most outstanding tourist destinations in the world.
Golden sun, blue sea, glittering skyscrapers, turbulent artificial worlds, mysterious Orient. Dubai stands for all this and much more.
Dubai - With an area of 3,885 square kilometers and a population of almost 3.5 million people, Dubai is the most populous emirate in the United Arab Emirates. The
Gulf region can look back on an unprecedented economic rise in the 20th century due to oil discoveries. The capital has implemented gigantic construction projects with worldwide
superlatives.
The Emirate of Dubai is located on the Arabian Peninsula on the Persian Gulf and borders Abu Dhabi to the southwest and Sharjah to the northeast. The national
territory also includes the exclave of Hatta, which is located in the Hajar Mountains on the border with Oman. While the city on the coastal region stretches across the 14-kilometre-long and up
to 1,300-metre-wide Khor Dubai, the rest of the emirate consists almost entirely of desert.
